Viz Media has announced that the Berserk: The Golden Age Arc III – The Advent anime film will be screened at the 2014 Japan Film Festival of San Francisco. The film will screen on July 23, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. with an encore presentation on July 27, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. The film will be presented with the original Japanese dialogue and English subtitles. Tickets for Berserk: The Golden Age Arc III – The Advent are $13.00 each.
Berserk: The Golden Age Arc III – The Advent depicts the horrifying conclusion to the epic Golden Age trilogy and unfolds in a magnificently violent nightmare, signifying the birth of a new era. It’s been a year since Griffith’s imprisonment by the Kingdom of Midland. Once praised as the saviors of the Midland, the Band of the Hawk has been on the run and is on the brink of breaking apart. Much to everyone’s surprise, Guts returns to the Hawks, and the search for Griffith begins!
The Waterloo Festival for Animated Cinema will be screening the following films during its upcoming festival, which is taking place November 14-17, 2013 at the Chrysalids Theatre:
- Evangelion 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo
- 009 Re:Cyborg
- The three Berserk films
The opening night gala for the festival is will be hosting a tribute to Hayao Miyazaki called “Nerdgasm: Miyazaki Madness,” which will honor Miyazaki’s lifetime of films through burlesque, circus, dance, and other variety acts.
Author Brian Ruh will be presenting a panel on November 17, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. that will focus on anime director Mamoru Oshii.
Michael Gombos from Dark Horse Comics announced on Twitter that the company will be republishing all volumes of the Berserk manga series, including some that were hard to find and sold in the $90 range or more on eBay.
Gombos also revealed that with the publication of the 29th volume of Berserk, they’ve passed the three-quarters-of-a-million mark in series sales.
Montreal’s Fantasia International Film Festival announced that three anime won awards during their event:
- Makoto Shinkai’s The Garden of Words and Toshiyuki Kubooka’s Berserk Golden Age Arc III: Descent films both won the Satoshi Kon Award for Achievement in Animation
- Masaaki Yuasa’s Kick-Heart anime short won Best Animated Short Film

The 12th annual Asian Film Festival of Dallas has announced that it will be screening Berserk: The Golden Age I – The Egg of the King and Berserk: The Golden Age II – The Battle for Doldrey.

Variety is reporting that the Berserk Golden Age Arc II: The Battle for Doldrey anime film will screen in competition at this year’s Annecy, the world’s largest animation festival.
This year’s Annecy is taking place June 10-15, 2013.
Viz Media has announced that Berserk Golden Age Arc II: The Battle for Doldrey will be screened at the New People Cinema in San Francisco on May 11, 2013. The first two films will be shown as a double feature at 3:00 p.m. and at 8:00 p.m., and both films will be shown with the English dub. The double feature will also be shown on Viz Media’s Neon Alley service at the same time as the San Francisco screening.
Tickets for the double feature cost US$25 and are available now. Ticketholders will receive a gift pack with items from Japan.
