The Wind Rises Receives Golden Globe Nomination for Best Foreign Language Film

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced its nominees for the 71st Annual Golden Globes. Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli’s The Wind Rises is nominated for Best Foreign Language Film. Also competing in this category are France’s Blue Is the Warmest Color, Italy’s The Great Beauty, Denmark’s The Hunt, and Iran’s The Past.

No anime were nominated for Best Animated Feature Film.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association will host the awards on January 12, 2014.

The Wind Rises Is on Golden Globes’ Short List

Anime News Network is reporting that Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki’s The Wind Rises is one of 58 films included on the 71st Annual Golden Globe’s Best Foreign Language Film category’s short list.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association will announce the final nominees on December 12, 2013. The awards ceremony itself will be taking place on January 12, 2014.

Arrietty and Poppy Hill on Golden Globe Shortlist

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced the 12 animated films that will be vying for a nomination for the Best Animated Feature category at the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Both The Secret World of Arrietty and From Up on Poppy Hill are among the 12 films on the shortlist for a Golden Globe nomination.

The HFPA can choose up to five films for the final nominee list; the official slate of nominees will be announced on December 13, 2012. The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be held on January 13, 2013.
